Position: Commissioning Project ManagerDepartment: Children’s Services Directorate, CommissioningLocation: Haringey Local AuthorityRate: £400 per dayContract Type: Outside IR35About the RolePertemps are seeking an experienced and driven Commissioning Project Manager to join a dynamic team in the Children’s Services Directorate. This role is crucial in supporting the effective commissioning of services to address the mental health, speech and language, and occupational therapy needs of children in our community.Key Responsibilities
  • Service Review: Conduct comprehensive reviews of services commissioned under section 75 agreements, with a focus on mental health and speech & language provisions.
  • Project Management: Utilise project management methodologies to lead and deliver commissioning projects from inception through completion.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with Local Authority and Integrated Care Board (ICB) stakeholders to assess service requirements and improvements.
  • Reporting and Strategy Development: Develop reports and recommendations to improve services, and implement commissioning strategies for mental health, speech and language, and occupational therapy.
  • Service Monitoring: Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of commissioned services to ensure they meet the needs of children and young people.
  • Advisory Role: Provide expert advice on commissioning best practices, ensuring services are needs-led, evidence-based, and community-focused.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven background in a similar role within a Local Authority, specifically in children’s services commissioning.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of commissioning processes for mental health, speech and language, and occupational therapy services.
  • Project Management: Skilled in project management with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
  • Communication: Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
