About the Role

As the Head of Housing Solutions, you'll take the lead in managing our Housing Solutions teams, delivering vital services to prevent and reduce homelessness. You'll be at the forefront of initiatives addressing rough sleeping, supporting refugee resettlement programs like Homes for Ukraine, and ensuring compliance with housing legislation such as the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and Part VII of the Housing Act 1996.

Your role will include:

  • Leading strategies to provide immediate and long-term housing solutions for vulnerable individuals and families.
  • Ensuring effective operational delivery of homelessness applications and temporary accommodation.
  • Collaborating with landlords, housing associations, and external stakeholders to secure housing options.
  • Overseeing legal challenges, judicial reviews, and compliance with statutory duties.
  • Driving continuous improvement and innovation in service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing policies, procedures, and strategies to prevent homelessness.
  • Managing budgets of up to £8 million, ensuring efficient resource allocation and compliance with financial policies.
  • Leading and inspiring a team to deliver high-quality housing solutions and meet key performance indicators.
  • Building strong partnerships with internal teams, external agencies, and community stakeholders.
  • Supporting grant applications to secure additional funding for housing initiatives.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a results-driven leader with:

  • Significant experience in housing or related fields, with a proven track record in homelessness services.
  • In-depth knowledge of housing legislation, including the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire teams and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Strategic and analytical skills to address complex housing challenges and deliver innovative solutions.

Essential Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level in a related field, such as Housing, Social Work, or Public Administration.
  • Membership in a relevant professional body, such as the Chartered Institute of Housing.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development, including management or project management training.
