Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Homelessness Prevention Adviser for a Local Authority Client based in North London.

In this role, you will provide tailored advice and specialist casework support to residents facing housing challenges, helping them explore options for housing, employment, wellbeing, welfare benefits, and debt.

Key Duties:

  • Offer tailored guidance on housing, employment, wellbeing, welfare benefits, and debt to residents in need.
  • Work with Housing Allocation Services and the Private Sector Initiatives Team to identify sustainable housing solutions.
  • Support homeless and at-risk households, maintain accurate records, and liaise with landlords, housing providers, and external agencies.
  • Work with local services, charities, and training providers to offer holistic support and improve outcomes for residents.

Qualifications and Experience:

The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:

  • Experience in providing housing advice, homelessness prevention, and welfare benefits guidance.
  • Managing caseloads, supporting vulnerable individuals, and liaising with landlords and external agencies.
  • Strong understanding of housing law, welfare benefits, and financial support services.
  • Working with local authorities, charities, and community organisations to deliver effective housing solutions.

What's on offer:

Salary: £25+ph

*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*

Contract type: 3-6, months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension

Hours: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
