- To coordinate and manage stakeholder relationships with the communities the clients new build developments are situated within.
- The role will involve interface with the local communities, local authorities, schools and wider stakeholders and will be seen as the eyes and ears of the organisation on the ground in the communities it works.
- The post holder has responsibility for ensuring good community relations and communication with all project stakeholders including existing residents, local councillors, MP’s, LA officers and other stakeholders as appropriate
- The post holder will work most closely with the Development Manager, the Marketing and the on-site delivery Managers.
- Support the planning and delivery of the community communications across all facets of each development. The post holder will be the first point of contact for local residents and other stakeholders and is in effect the face of the client in the community. Â
- Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders in the community, adjacent to the development and in the wider opportunity area.
- Prepare a Community Development Plan for each project which supports the project deliverables and adapt as necessary during project progression. This is to include evaluations of outputs and impacts
- Support delivery the project’s socio-economic S106 obligations by assisting the on-site team to meet the targets (eg, local labour, training, education) and by identify potential community partners to help with delivery
- Support the transition from delivery (construction) to the arrival of new residents and support their integration into the development (eg, signposting to residents groups, clubs, societies, etc)
- Work with local groups and societies to engender a sense of pride in the development and to encourage the integration of new and existing residents
- Establish awareness-raising opportunities to promote community development initiatives
- Produce and manage project budgets for each project.
- Past experience in Housing community projects
- Some housing background knowledge
- Developing projects
- Dealing with the local people and community
- Experience in designing and conducting community development and liaison activities
- Experience of communicating and developing relationships with stakeholders
- An understanding of the property and construction industries and working with contractors
- Experience in running community consultation programmes
