Housing Officer

We are currently recruiting on behalf of multiple local authority clients for experienced and motivated Housing Officers to support a variety of housing services. These roles cover key areas such as tenancy and estate management, homelessness prevention, contract and leasehold services, rent arrears recovery, and housing advice.

Whether your background is in tenancy sustainment, contract management, homelessness services, or general housing operations-we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities (may include):

  • Tenancy & estate management, including sign-ups, inspections, and tenant support.
  • Rent collection and arrears recovery, including payment agreements and enforcement.
  • Managing anti-social behaviour (ASB) cases and supporting community safety initiatives.
  • Homelessness prevention and housing advice, including Housing Needs assessments and casework under the Homelessness Reduction Act.
  • Managing temporary accommodation placements and liaising with support agencies.
  • Contract and leasehold management, including service charge reviews and landlord compliance.
  • Partnership working with internal teams, external stakeholders, and community organisations.
  • Maintaining accurate case records, reports, and ensuring compliance with housing legislation and safeguarding policies.

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a Housing Officer role (any specialism).
  • Strong knowledge of housing law, welfare reform, and homelessness legislation.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage caseloads independently and work collaboratively with wider teams.
  • Experience working within a local authority or housing association.
  • Knowledge of Universal Credit, DHP, ASB procedures, and tenancy sustainment.
