About the RoleHyperion Partners is delighted to partner with a respected social housing provider to recruit a dedicated Housing Officer. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a passion for community support and housing management to make a significant impact in a growing and diverse environment.

As a Housing Officer, you will be responsible for managing and supporting tenants within a social housing setting, ensuring that their housing needs are met while promoting a positive living environment. You will play a crucial role in tenant relations, property management, and ensuring that all housing policies and procedures are followed to maintain a high standard of service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a designated portfolio of social housing properties, ensuring they are well-maintained, safe, and compliant with relevant regulations.
  • Provide support to tenants, addressing queries, concerns, and requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct property inspections and ensure that repairs and maintenance are carried out promptly and efficiently.
  • Assist tenants with tenancy agreements, rent payments, and arrears management, ensuring that tenants are fully informed of their rights and responsibilities.
  • Work closely with other departments and external contractors to resolve any housing-related issues, including maintenance, repairs, and safety concerns.
  • Promote positive community relations and encourage tenant engagement through regular communication and initiatives.
  • Ensure that health and safety standards, including fire safety and building compliance, are upheld in all housing properties.
  • Maintain accurate tenant records and documentation, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a housing or property management role, ideally within a social housing environment.
  • Strong understanding of housing law, tenancy agreements, and relevant regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of tenants.
  • A proactive, solution-focused approach to resolving issues and improving tenant satisfaction.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage a busy workload.
  • A friendly, approachable demeanor and the ability to build positive relationships with tenants and stakeholders.
  • A full driving license and access to a vehicle (if required for the role).
