What We're Looking For:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years post-qualification social work experience, focusing on family-related cases (ASYE, valid DBS, and HCPC/SWE registration required).
  • Over two years of experience in a Supervising Social Worker role within fostering.
  • Strong assessment skills and a proven track record of social work competence.
  • Familiarity with electronic case recording systems (we operate a paperless environment).

  • Additional fostering-related training, particularly in therapeutic or counselling areas.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Fostering Applications: Recruit, assess, and support foster carers, ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding and child welfare.
  • Carer Support: Supervise foster carers, address any concerns, and facilitate training and support groups. Offer out-of-hours support as part of a team rota.
  • Child Placement: Match and place children with foster carers, manage placement agreements, and ensure ongoing safety and care.
  • Team Collaboration: Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for children, foster carers, and families.
  • Safeguarding: Act in accordance with child protection and safeguarding procedures, reporting any concerns immediately.
