A reputable Housing Provider in Islington are keen to secure a Supported Housing Officer to join their busy team that supports vulnerable people on a temporary basis.

Hours: 35 per weekShifts: 8-4, 9-5 or 12-8 1 in 6 weekends Duration: Temporary, 2-3 months

The role involves:• The Housing facility involves working with Women offering 60 supported bed spaces and 33 short-term accommodation bed spaces• This housing unit requires working with people with a variety of support needs• To interview clients referred to the service and make an assessment on their suitability for acceptance to the hostel and induct them in line with scheme policy• Provide advice to clients on housing, training and employment opportunities and other issues as required• Work with clients to produce outcome focused support plans liaising with external agencies as appropriate to ensure ongoing support needs of clients• Utilise knowledge skills and experience to recognise difficult or challenging client situations and use appropriate communication skills to influence the client’s behaviour• Assist clients in making claims for welfare benefits and for the collection of Housing Benefit and to deal promptly with rent arrears• Maintain accurate records including client files and data on admissions and departures from the service• Undertake housing management tasks including reception duties, taking rent and ensuring a clean and safe physical environment

Essential requirements:• An enhanced DBS form within 12 months or willingness to obtain a new one• Experience working with vulnerable people in supported accommodation• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
