Team Leader, £35ph, Adult Social Care, HackneyPertemps are seeking a Team Leader for the Welcome Hackney Refugee, Migrant & Asylum Seeker Service.Purpose of the Role:To manage a team of support workers, ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed services for refugees, migrants, and people seeking asylum. The role includes workload allocation, managing complex cases, and supporting integration and access to services.Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team delivering services to refugees, migrants, and asylum seekers, ensuring trauma-informed and anti-racist practices.
  • Oversee the delivery of the Welcome Hub, coordinating weekly drop-in services for migrants and asylum seekers.
  • Support residents with housing needs, including preventing homelessness and linking them to housing advice.
  • Lead safeguarding responses and coordinate with internal and external safeguarding teams.
  • Manage caseloads and ensure timely interventions for complex cases.
  • Provide line management for support workers, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders, both internal and external, to improve outcomes for residents.
  • Ensure effective record-keeping and GDPR compliance.
Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience working with refugees, migrants, or asylum seekers, particularly in homelessness prevention.
  • Line and team management experience, with a focus on motivation and empowering staff.
  • Knowledge of welfare systems, housing legislation, safeguarding, and co-production.
  • Ability to foster a learning culture and ensure high team performance.
