Temporary Accommodation Move-On Officer

We are seeking a candidate to cover a secondment position focused on assessing and facilitating the move-on accommodation needs of homeless households in temporary accommodation. This role requires a thorough evaluation of financial, social, and welfare circumstances to ensure appropriate support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess the move-on needs of households in temporary accommodation, including financial, social, and welfare aspects.

  • Support households with access to move-on options such as bidding strategies, qualifying offers, PRSO, and supported or specialist housing.

  • Issue statutory decision letters and ensure compliance with statutory requirements and Council policies.

  • Negotiate with landlords to secure affordable accommodation and facilitate viewings and sign-up arrangements.

  • Work closely with Procurement and other teams to ensure efficient use of properties and minimise financial loss.

  • Maintain and update case management systems to ensure enquiries and cases progress efficiently, meeting set targets.

  • Provide excellent customer service and contribute to continuous improvement in service standards.

Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of housing policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and customer service skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external teams.

  • Proficiency in maintaining and updating case management systems.
