The Role:Tenancy Management and Resettlement Officer

Location:Lewisham, London

Rate of Pay: £26 Umbrella P/H

We are working with a local authority looking for a Tenancy Management and Resettlement Officer to join their housing team. This is an exciting opportunity to help secure and sustain private rented sector accommodation for households in housing need, prevent homelessness, and reduce reliance on temporary accommodation.

Main Duties:

  • Increase the supply of quality private rented accommodation to meet housing needs.
  • Assess tenant's suitability for private rented housing, including financial and housing history checks.
  • Conduct property inspections to ensure compliance with health, safety, and planning regulations.
  • Provide advice and guidance to tenants on tenancy conditions, housing benefits, and local services.
  • Mediate between landlords and tenants to resolve tenancy issues and sustain tenancies.
  • Negotiate cash incentives and bond payments with landlords and accommodation providers.
  • Maintain accurate records of properties, tenants, and financial transactions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure a seamless rehousing process.

The Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience in housing management, tenancy sustainment, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of private rented sector tenancy management and welfare reforms.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and maintain accurate records.
  • A customer-focused approach with the ability to work effectively with landlords and tenants.
