Position: Behavioral Support Assistant
Location: Pupil Referral Unit (PRU), Woolwich
Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM

We are seeking a dedicated Behavioral Support Assistant with experience supporting children with moderate to severe Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Special Educational Needs (SEN) for a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) based in Woolwich. This full-time role requires a candidate with prior experience in managing challenging behavior and working with children with complex needs. If you have experience as a behavioral mentor, youth mentor, social worker, or SEN teaching assistant, whether personal or professional, this experience may be transferable to this position.

Daily Duties:
- Provide individualized support to students with SEMH and SEN needs within the PRU setting.
- Assist in the development and implementation of tailored support plans for students.
- Manage and de-escalate challenging behavior in a constructive and supportive manner.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to monitor student progress and adapt strategies as needed.
- Engage with parents and caregivers to support the emotional and educational development of students.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills in SEN and SEMH support.
- Contribute to the overall safety and well-being of students within the Pupil Referral Unit.
