A young disabled man, his new wife and baby are in need of Personal Support Worker in Vauxhall. They live in Vauxhall and are looking for a male* PA to work between 2 and 4 24 hour shifts per week.
The PA User enjoys watching football, spending time with family, reading news and sports articles, surfing the net, and visiting new places and sights when possible.Â
You don’t need any experience just a willingness to learn and an open-mind.  You need good communication skills, to be strong, energetic and have a good understanding of care needs of a physically disabled person.
The work involves assistance with getting in and out of bed, using the toilet, showering, dressing, cooking, housework shopping, etc.
You will have downtime during shifts whilst the PA User is doing his activities. During this time, you may sit in the PA’s room and be on-call for any assistance her requires. He will send a message when he requires you. If you need to go out, you must agree this with the PA User and make sure he is safe and will not require you in the time you are going to be out. In an emergency, if you are outside and he calls you, you must prioritise him.Â
The primary aim of the PA is to enable the PA User to accomplish all his daily living activities, attend and be punctual to all his appointments, make sure he takes all his medications during the day, complete any shopping he requires and prompt him to go for fresh air.Â
The PA User is a Muslim and therefore during working hours a PA cannot smoke or have any food that contains alcohol or pork. A PA is not permitted to drink alcohol.
*Gender is considered to be a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010 for a male/female worker to work with our client.
