Youth PractitionerHaringey£25.52/hr Full time: 35/hrs a week Start date: ASAPAKTON Recruitment is working closely with the local authorities and we are looking for a Youth Practitioner / Youth Targeted Support in the Haringey area. 3 - 6 months contract. Role Purpose

  • Utilising a strengths-based approach in line with the Supporting Families criteria, the role will ensure a multi-agency response and the coordination of effective interventions whilst maintaining a focus on safeguarding, protection and wellbeing of young people and their families.
  • Hold a caseload of 10 young people and families with a contextual safeguarding emphasis but in a whole family approach
  • Deliver parenting programmes as part of the under early help and prevention agenda, supporting the whole family agenda.
  • To work in partnership with emerging Family Hub and Locality work

1.Undertake regular, purposeful home and community visits to inform assessments, planning monitoring young people and their families.2.To act as case holder and lead professional for young people and families in accordance with the appropriate level of complexities, threshold and criteria undertaking assessment, planning and reviews as the lead professional3.Assess, plan and review within agreed timescales to ensure high quality interventions for young people and families assessing the service.4. Support the wider early help and parenting agenda by delivering accredited parenting programmes as agreed by service managers.5.Role model behaviour to young people and families displaying clear, personal and professional boundaries.Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Extensive knowledge of safeguarding, contextual safeguarding, serious youth violence and associated risks
  • Knowledge of early help systems, community safety and supporting families framework
  • Knowledge of adolescent development

Experience

  • Experience of working with young people and families from diverse cultures and backgrounds
  • Experience of case management and meeting deadlines
  • Experience of working as part of a wider prevention offer with partners from the statutory and voluntary sectors
