They are currently seeking an enthusiastic and organised Attendance Officer to join their growing team, based in Islington, and ensure effective attendance monitoring and reporting, helping to maintain a positive school culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate daily attendance records for all students.
  • Track and report student absences, lateness, and overall attendance patterns.
  • Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student absences, and follow up as necessary.
  • Work with school leadership to identify and address attendance issues, including patterns of chronic absenteeism.
  • Provide support to staff and students with attendance-related matters.
  • Collaborate with other school departments to ensure smooth operations and communication related to student attendance.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a school setting, particularly in an administrative or student support role (preferred).
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Attention to detail and proficiency in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office or similar office software; knowledge of school management systems (e.g., SIMS) is a plus.
  • A proactive, reliable, and empathetic approach to working with students and families.
