Are you passionate about supporting young people to reach their full potential? We are looking for a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join a vibrant secondary school in Haringey. This is an excellent opportunity to positively impact the lives of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, including those from vulnerable backgrounds or exhibiting challenging behaviours.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide tailored one-to-one and group mentoring to help students overcome barriers to learning and personal development.
- Support classroom behaviour management as part of the school's Behaviour Team, responding on-call as required.
- Work closely with the SENCO, teachers, and pastoral staff to deliver effective interventions.
- Implement and promote positive behaviour management strategies across the school.
- Build strong, trusting relationships to foster student engagement and well-being.
- Track student progress and well-being, liaising with staff and parents as necessary.
- Collaborate with external agencies to provide comprehensive support for students.
- Experience working with students with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, or from vulnerable backgrounds.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills to engage and motivate young people.
- Understanding of youth work principles and experience in educational or community settings.
- Ability to positively manage behaviour and deliver personalised interventions.
- Prior experience as a Behaviour Mentor, Learning Support Assistant, or Youth Worker.
- Knowledge of mental health support strategies and safeguarding practices.
- Relevant qualifications in youth work, behavioural management, or education support.
