Pastoral Assistant at an All-Girls Alternative Provision School (Southwark)

Position: Pastoral AssistantLocation: Southwark, LondonType: Full-Time, Term-Time Only (Monday to Friday 8.30am - 4pm)

Salary: £20,182 - £23,680

Role Overview:As a Pastoral Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the emotional, social, and academic well-being of our students. Working closely with teachers, counsellors, and senior staff, you will help to create a positive and engaging atmosphere where students feel valued and understood. Your role will be vital in helping students overcome barriers to learning and building their confidence for the future.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one and small group pastoral support to students.
• Have responsibility for attendance
• Assist in the development and implementation of individualized support plans.
• Work closely with the safeguarding team to promote student safety and well-being.
• Build strong relationships with students, acting as a positive role model and trusted mentor.
• Support students with emotional regulation, behaviour management, and conflict resolution.
• Liaise with parents/carers and external agencies to ensure holistic support for students.
• Assist in planning and delivering workshops focused on mental health, resilience, and self-esteem.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to foster an inclusive learning environment.
