Tradewind Recruitment is working with a secondary school in Hackney, seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join their team.

This role involves supporting students with behavioural needs, helping them stay on task, and providing both social and emotional support.

About the Role:

We are looking for a confident, experienced behaviour mentor. You will need to be empathetic, assertive, with strong administrative skills. Knowledge of SIMS for logging student progress would be a great advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing one-to-one classroom support
  • Maintaining a visible presence throughout the school to encourage positive behaviour
  • Promoting good behaviour and ensuring low-level disruption is minimized
  • Managing and de-escalating behavioural incidents, offering students strategies for self-regulation
  • Supporting students in the isolation room to ensure they stay on task with classwork
  • Overseeing and managing detention sessions

About the School: This is a large Hackney secondary school, rated "Good" by Ofsted, with excellent opportunities for career progression. The school is on multiple bus routes and on-site parking is available for staff.

Position Details:

  • Start Date: Immediate start
  • Contract: Term-time only, until July 2025
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15 am - 4:15 pm
  • Pay Rate: £95-£105 per day, depending on experience
