Tradewind Recruitment is working with a Church of England school in North London which is seeking a Behaviour Mentor for an immediate start.

This is a Church of England secondary school, which welcomes candidates from all communities and backgrounds. The school provides a supportive environment where every student is able to thrive. The school is seeking a hard-working and motivated Behaviour Mentor to join the team and work closely with students who need extra support, helping them succeed academically and personally.

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students facing behavioural challenges, helping develop positive attitudes and behaviours.
  • Engage with teachers, parents, and external professionals to create and implement personalised behaviour support plans.
  • Act as a positive role model, building strong, trusting relationships with students and promoting self-esteem, resilience, and self-discipline.
  • Monitor and record student progress using "SIMS" system, sharing feedback with teachers and senior staff to help shape future strategies.
  • Support the development of students' social and emotional skills, helping them navigate challenges both in and out of the classroom.
  • Contribute to creating a positive, inclusive school culture that fosters respect, cooperation, and understanding among all students.

Experience:

  • Experience working with young people, particularly those with behavioural or emotional challenges, is required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with students.
  • A calm, patient, and non-judgmental approach, able to remain composed in challenging situations.
  • A proactive, flexible attitude, ready to take on various tasks to support student success.
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in behaviour management, psychology, or related fields are a plus but not essential.
