Children's Rights Officer

Full Time: Mon - Fri - 36/hrs a week

Hatched Recruitment is working closely with the local authorities and we are looking for a Children's Rights Officer in the Hackney area.

As a Children's Rights Officer, you will be a lead advocate for children and young people both in care and subject to Child Protection Plans, undertake Return Home Interviews, and provide specific safety planning and input around sexual harm and exploitation.

The role is hybrid, the office days are normally Monday and Tuesday, this is a full time post so the remainder of the week will be working from home.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

? To provide support to the child or young person to ensure that their wishes and feelings are heard and considered to all forums related to them

? To provide support to ensure that children and young people have a say about decisions which affect them.

? To provide information about other services or organisations which may be useful and support as required in accessing these.

? To attend meetings as requested by children and young people either with them or on their behalf to advocate their views

? To mediate any complaints children may have, and if not able to resolve this to then support children to make a formal complaint in a timely manner

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

? Social work, or equivalent professional, qualification (e.g. youth work, teaching, health, Advocacy).

? Evidence of continuing professional development.

? Very high standards of literacy and numeracy.

EXPERIENCE

? Experience of providing advocacy to children and young people and of promoting their rights.

? Experience of working with people from a range of backgrounds and at different levels of seniority.

? Experience of producing in-depth reports and papers for senior children's services or social care audiences.

? Experience of collating, analysing and presenting information in a number of formats and for different audiences.
