Our Client, Southwark Council, is seeking a Children’s Social Worker to join their Team.

Responsibilities of this role:

  • Manage the moving in of Looked After Children and Care Leavers into projects for housing that we commission and to oversee their transition into independent living. This would require good matching skills for the move in and organisation and co-working skills for planning and the move on’s.
  • Working closely with the commissioned housing partners to ensure guidance and support in better meeting the needs of our children and young people.
  • Ensuring close working with the housing partners to maximise capacity in continuing to offer services.
  • Ongoing Quality Assurance of the commissioned housing partners and other external providers of services such as Independent Fostering Agencies, Residential Children’s Home, Parenting Assessment Units, 18+ accommodation, etc.
  • Working closely and creatively with the Team Manager in developing the Quality Assurance aspect of the placement service.
  • Working closely with our Looked After Children and Care Leavers around feedback and empowering them to be part of the QA processes.
  • Working closely with our external providers in helping them understand their areas of development and tracking progress.

Requirements of this role:

  • Must be a Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
  • Must have a Social Work qualification (Diploma in social work, social work degree or equivalent)
  • Must have minimum of 2 years experience working as a Qualified social worker in a similar team
