As a Mental Health Practitioner specialising in drug and alcohol teams is a specialised professional who provides comprehensive support and treatment to individuals struggling with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health issues. Their responsibilities typically include assessing clients' mental health and substance use, developing and implementing personalized treatment plans, providing counseling and therapy, and coordinating care with other healthcare providers. They use evidence-based practices to help clients manage cravings, develop coping strategies, and work towards recovery. Additionally, they may offer education and support to clients' families and work on prevention and outreach programs within the community. Their goal is to promote holistic recovery and improve the overall well-being of their clients.

Requirements and qualifications required for this role:

  • Proven experience within a drug and alcohol service

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
  • Members of staff should be a driver and have Crisis Team or Psych Liaison experience.
