Overview of Organisation

Khulisa is a charity that works in mainstream secondary schools. We deliver a creative, therapeutic and evidence-based programme that helps to build young people’s social and emotional skills, and that increases their engagement and attendance in education.

We focus on delivering specifically to young people who have experienced multiple traumas and adversities and our programmes support both them, and their parents/carers and teachers/ schools, to grow in emotional literacy together. We intentionally wrap around a young person and create circles of containment and care as they face and work through their experiences and any resulting challenges. This is what drives us. We get the privilege of meeting the most incredible, resilient, reflective young people everyday in our programmes. It cannot be acceptable that because of their childhoods, they are so much more likely to lose access to the education they deserve and/or to end up in prison. We are determined to change this and we want to change it with them. This role is an opportunity to help us do this and to do it with a team that is passionate, creative and heavily committed to always learning and developing.
