- Undertake urgent assessments, reviews, and interventions under the Care Act 2014 and Children Act 1989/2004.
- Act as an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP), conducting assessments under the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended 2007).
- Work as part of the AMHP duty rota, responding to individuals in crisis.
- Make professional decisions within relevant legal and policy frameworks, including:
- Mental Capacity Act 2005 / DoLS & Liberty Protection Safeguards
- Human Rights Act & relevant case law
- Safeguarding Adults & Children procedures
- Conduct adult safeguarding enquiries and support individuals in developing protection plans.
- Assess and review Breathing Space applications under the Debt Respite Scheme Regulations 2020.
- Collaborate with partner agencies, including health professionals, police, and emergency services to ensure the best possible outcomes.
- Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
- AMHP qualification with experience in Mental Health Act assessments.
- Strong knowledge of Care Act 2014, Mental Health Act, and safeguarding procedures.
- Experience in out-of-hours emergency duty services.
- Ability to work independently under pressure and make sound professional judgments in urgent situations.
- Excellent risk assessment, crisis intervention, and decision-making skills.
