Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Mentor with expertise in supporting individuals with autism. The ideal candidate will be committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for learners with diverse needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement personalised learning plans for students with autism, tailored to their specific needs and learning styles
  • Provide one-on-one support to students, assisting with academic, social, and emotional development
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and parents/guardians to ensure a holistic approach to student support
  • Create and facilitate workshops and training sessions for educators and families to enhance understanding and support for students with autism
  • Track student progress and provide regular feedback to relevant stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working with individuals with autism in an educational setting
  • Strong understanding of autism spectrum disorders and best practices for supporting individuals with diverse learning needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with students and their families
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to address the holistic needs of students
  • Relevant certifications and/or training in special education or autism support services

Day-to-Day

  • Work directly with students to support their learning and social/emotional development
  • Collaborate with teachers to create inclusive learning environments
  • Track student progress and adapt support strategies as needed
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on student development
  • Lead workshops and training sessions for educators and families on autism awareness and support strategies
