Good Afternoon,

I am currently representing Haringey Council, who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 3-6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate which is negotiable dependent upon experience

We are looking for a Education Welfare Officer this role will be: N22 6UX

The right candidate will:

  • To provide an Education Welfare Service support to schools in Haringey.
  • To assess and help address social emotional and educational problems which affect school attendance and manage a caseload ranging from non-attendance to vulnerable children with complex problems.
  • To assist Haringey schools in developing implementing and monitoring policies and procedures to improve school attendance within the framework of Haringey is equal opportunity policy.
  • To assist in the implementation of all council plans relating to young people.
  • To provide accessible support and strategic advice on attendance to Head Teachers being sensitive to the particular needs of children from diverse backgrounds and vulnerable students.
  • To maintain case records in line with Haringey council's case recording policy and to attend school events and meetings as required.

We require the following:

  • Experience of working with senior- leadership and staff in maintained/independent primary, secondary schools and academies.
  • Experience of working in a local authority in an investigative enforcement role.
  • Experience of Court Work to enforce legislation, processing and issuing of fixed penalty notices.
