Hatched Recruitment is looking for a IRO in the Islington.

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Service for a talented and enthusiastic Independent Reviewing Officer.

As a member of the Safeguarding and Quality Assurance team you may hold a diverse caseload that will include mainly children looked after and some child protection cases. You will also be asked to contribute to auditing activity across the service, which will be an integral part of the role. You will need to possess excellent chairing skills, to confidently manage difficult meetings whilst ensuring the participation of children and young people and their parents; have a keen eye for scrutiny, auditing, attention to detail and good report writing skills. The successful applicant will be able to ensure effective decisions are made for Children Looked After and Children with a Child Protection Plan and monitor those decisions in line with Working Together and the Care Placement, Planning and Review Regulations.

The successful applicant will need extensive knowledge of London Child Protection Procedures, The Care Planning, Placement and Case Review Regulations, 2010 and the IRO handbook and be expected to ensure that high quality services are being delivered to children, providing constructive challenge where needed.
