Job Type: Part Time, 3 days per week

What you will be doing

Main duties:

  • Supporting the development and delivery of a range of evaluation projects across the organisation, leading on smaller projects with the support of senior staff
  • Conducting regular ad-hoc in person consultations with Forward’s service users and staff (e.g. interviews and focus groups)
  • Collection of routine and once off data as part of service/programme evaluation
  • Creating Jotform form and paper based surveys in line with evaluation best practice
  • Translating evaluation results into accessible, user-friendly content for internal use
  • Making initial recommendations and creating follow up action plans that feed into service development plans for a service
  • Working with the Therapeutic Quality Team to monitor the effectiveness of Forward’s services, programme quality and adherence to the manuals

Other

  • Take on any other reasonable tasks deemed necessary by your line manager or other more senior members of staff (e.g. the Director of Service Improvement or the Executive Director of Research & Development)
  • Contributing to other cross-divisional projects as required

Qualifications

Essential

  • Bachelor’s/undergraduate -level qualification(s) in psychology or other social science (2:1 or above)
  • Additional training in use of MS Excel, SPSS and/or other statistical software to perform advanced statistics

Desirable

  • Post-graduate level qualification(s) in psychology or other social science

Experience

Essential

  • Strong, demonstrable understanding of designing methods of robust evaluation.
  • Experience in presenting findings or other related topics to diverse audiences.
  • Experience of undertaking focus groups and interviews for evaluation purposes
  • Case management experience in a substance misuse/probation or criminal justice or related field

Skills/ Knowledge

Essential

  • Proficiency in the use of data management software to clean and draw conclusions from data, e.g. MS Excel
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to explain, summarise and present descriptive and inferential statistics in an understandable and approachable manner.
  • Excellent IT skills, including proficiency with MS Office software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc.)
  • Ability and confidence to quickly learn new software packages as and when needed.
  • A positive problem solving approach with the ability to focus on key issues quickly and clearly.
  • Ability to manage own workload effectively to deadlines and targets
  • Flexible attitude and openness to changing priorities
  • Ability to represent Forward in a positive and professional manner
