Practice Manager, Disabled Children and Young People ServicePertemps are recruiting for an experienced Practice Manager/ Assistant Team Manager to Disabled Children and Young People between the ages of 0-25 in the borough. As a Practice Leader in the team, the postholder will hold a reduced caseload and also have management oversight of up to two social workers in the service. This is a key role in ensuring disabled children and young people have access to the services they need to meet their outcomes. The postholder will work closely with the multi-disciplinary services including Children’s Occupational therapy and Short Breaks team, as well services across the directorate including commissioning, social care services, and SEND. We are looking for an enthusiastic leader who has a passion for supporting children and young people, particularly those with SEND. Main duties:
  • Provide day to day direction to and co-ordination of staff working in the Assessment and Support Teams
  • To provide increased managerial oversight on cases to ensure allocations and statutory assessments are both timely and proportionate to identified risk
  • To assist with the operational management of the team and take forward the implementation of new initiatives alongside the Team Leader.
  • Support the Team Leader in ensuring that the core functions of the team operate to a good quality and are effective in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Allocate work, agree targets, monitor and implement training programmes and generally develop and motivate staff to perform effectively.
  • To set standards and priorities for the team, promoting quality management standards and the effective implementation and monitoring of standards, policies and procedures.
  • Provide supervision and take line management responsibility for up to 2 qualified social workers
Working arrangements: 2 days at home, 3 days in the office, 9-5pm.Role requirements:
  • SWE registered
  • Extensive experience working within similar statutory teams (DCS/CWD/SEND)
  • Previous supervisory and management experience of social work teams
