About RISE

RISE envisions a world where individuals lead safe, meaningful lives through improved relationships within families and communities, reducing the prevalence of harmful behaviour and minimising crime. Our programs empower people to break cycles of harmful behaviour, working with children, young people, and families to make better decisions. We specialise in delivering transformative behaviour change courses within the criminal justice system and communities, aiming to reduce reoffending and protect the public.

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated NVR Practitioner to join our team, delivering a variety of interventions, including individual and group work, focusing on child and adolescent violence and abuse programs using the Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) approach. In this role, you will work primarily with parents and caregivers while also engaging with other impacted family members and, where possible, the young person causing harm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advocate for the rights and protection of children.
  • Deliver sessions using NVR techniques with parents, children, and family members.
  • Adhere to program manuals, applying strength-based and motivational interviewing approaches.
  • Support families in developing skills and knowledge for non-violent behaviour management.
  • Collaborate with statutory and voluntary professionals to manage risk and ensure safety.
  • Maintain high standards in assessments, reports, and intervention planning.
  • Participate in risk review meetings, training sessions, and community training as required.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in trauma-informed work, domestic abuse interventions, or casework.
  • Ability to undertake risk assessments and write high-quality reports.
  • Experience working with parents, families, children, and young people.
  • Proven ability to engage challenging client groups using creative and empathetic approaches.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and work collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficiency with new technology and digital tools.
  • An Enhanced DBS Check is required.
Desirable Skills
  • Knowledge of behavioural issues such as conduct disorder, ADHD, or anxiety in children and young people.
  • Relevant qualifications in social work, CBT, family therapy, or counselling (Level 3 or above).
Corporate Responsibilities
  • Uphold RISEs values: People, Change, Innovation, Diversity, Excellence, Evidence-led, Collaboration, and Social Impact.
  • Promote and practice RISEs Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Policy.
  • Demonstrate commitment to RISEs strategic objectives and vision in all aspects of work.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and safeguarding policies.
Why Join Us?
  • Be part of a passionate and innovative team dedicated to transforming lives and communities.
  • Access ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
  • Make a meaningful impact on families and young people experiencing harmful behaviour.
If you are motivated by the opportunity to create safer and more resilient communities, apply today to join RISE as an NVR Practitioner.
