Social Worker - Child Protection Team, Camden

Salary: Up to £50,706 per annum + Zone 1 & 2 travel allowance (£1,628) + Social Work England fee reimbursement

Role Responsibilities:

  • Hold and manage a complex caseload of child protection cases, ensuring children are safeguarded and their needs are met.

  • Undertake investigations, risk assessments, and Section 47 enquiries.

  • Develop and implement child protection plans and review their effectiveness regularly.

  • Prepare detailed court reports and give evidence in family court proceedings as required.

  • Work collaboratively with families, ensuring their voices are heard and included in care plans.

  • Liaise effectively with multi-agency partners to provide a holistic approach to safeguarding.

  • Ensure compliance with statutory guidelines, policies, and procedures.

About You:

  • Qualified Social Worker with a degree, diploma, or equivalent in Social Work.

  • A minimum of 2 years of post-qualifying experience in child protection.

  • In-depth knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and related legislation.

  • Experience in undertaking Section 47 enquiries, child protection planning, and court work.

  • Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make evidence-based decisions.

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to work with families and professionals.

  • Registered with Social Work England.
