We are looking to recruit a Qualified Social Worker in the Contact Centre/MASH Team within Islington. The successful candidate will be working in a well-structured, organised team who are growing their social worker staffing levels.

London Borough of Islington pay close attention to looking after their Social Workers and strive to ensure they feel supported and welcomed in their roles. The responsibilities of the Social Worker includes:

  • Responsible for making evidence-based threshold decisions in line with the local policy and London Safeguarding Children Procedures, as well as other relevant guidance, legislation and research.
  • The social worker will be responsible for ensuring every child's needs and any risk factors are meaningfully considered by gathering relevant and proportionate information to inform decision making, including undertaking MASH checks within agreed timescales.
  • Your role will also include taking telephone calls from professionals and members of the public, including urgent child protection referrals, and signposting to other services when required.

To ideal candidate will have:

  • Social Work England registration
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Social Work qualified (MA/BSc/DPSW/CQSW/MSc/BA)
