We are looking to recruit a Qualified Social Worker in the Adults Mental Health Team within London Borough of Newham. The successful candidate will be working in a well-structured, organised team who are growing their social worker staffing levels.

Newham pay close attention to looking after their Social Workers and strive to ensure they feel supported and welcomed in their roles. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a stable working environment with experienced leadership, whilst receiving regular supervision and training opportunities.

The responsibilities of the Social Worker includes:

  • Carrying out social care needs and Carers assessments under the Care Act of 2014 both in the community and in hospital, completing support planning and reviews.
  • You will undertake Social Circumstance Reports, attending Mental Health Review Tribunals and attending s117 after care meetings under the Mental Health Act1983 (2007).
  • You will also be asked to act as an Enquiry Officer on Safeguarding cases and have a strong understanding of Mental Capacity Assessments and DoLS.
  • If you are an AMHP you will be expected to contribute to the AMHP rota.
  • Mental Health Neighbourhood Teams North & South - our long-term teams, holding case loads of those who receive commissioned care and support services, undertaking reviews of people's needs and supporting people from a recovery based approach to enhance a person's independence and promote well-being.

To ideal candidate will have:

  • Social Work England registration
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Social Work qualified (MA/BSc/DPSW/CQSW/MSc/BA)
