Safer Communities Violence Reduction Manager - Hybrid role - Excellent rates of pay - Immediate start
On behalf of our client, we are seeking a skilled and dynamic professional for the interim role of Safer Communities Violence Reduction Team Manager, an exciting opportunity to lead vital work in reducing violence and improving community safety while recruitment for the permanent position is underway.
This role involves managing the day-to-day operations and practice of the Violence Reduction Team (VRT) within Safer Communities. The VRT takes a multi-agency, contextual safeguarding approach to break cycles of group-related violence, ensuring young people and families receive high-quality support. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the team's performance, monitoring and evaluating the VRT project, and reporting outcomes to the central Violence Reduction Unit.
Applicants must demonstrate evidence of continued professional, managerial, and personal development and be educated to degree level or hold an equivalent professional qualification related to Community Safety or the Criminal Justice System. Extensive experience in these fields, with a strong track record of effective practice, is essential.
The position includes developing and maintaining best practices across the team and the wider Safer Communities Service, ensuring work is consistently delivered to a high standard and complies with policies, procedures, and legislation. The role also requires co-chairing multi-agency meetings to address critical cases, including child sexual and criminal exploitation, missing episodes, county lines, and violence.
A strong focus will be placed on implementing evidence-based frameworks, utilizing intelligence to shape strategies, and collaborating with partners to deliver effective interventions. The role also involves providing expert advice on violence reduction to senior officers, stakeholders, and elected members, ensuring the Council fulfils its duties under the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 and associated policies.
This is a 35-hour-per-week interim position with hybrid working options, requiring at least two days per week in the office. Applicants must have proven team management experience, a commitment to reducing violence, and the ability to lead in a high-pressure, multi-agency environment.
