Safer Communities Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Project Officer

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dedicated Safer Communities Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Project Officer to support the delivery of the Violence Against Women and Girls programme. This role plays a key part in the wider Safer Communities Team, acting as the designated point of contact for the Domestic Abuse Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (DA MARAC) process, overseeing its administration, coordination, and development.

The role involves maintaining and developing systems for project control, assisting with events and consultations, and carrying out project-based tasks as required. A key focus will be supporting the implementation of responsibilities under the Domestic Abuse Act 2021, working closely with key stakeholders to ensure compliance and effective delivery of duty requirements. The postholder will contribute to the delivery of the Domestic Abuse and Violence Against Women and Girls Strategy, with a strong emphasis on community engagement, partnership working, and improving multi-agency responses to high-risk victims and survivors.

This position requires substantial experience in coordinating and administering partnership projects, particularly within the context of supporting vulnerable groups and VAWG victims. A strong background in multi-agency working is essential, as is experience in managing stakeholder relationships across voluntary, statutory, community, and business sectors. The successful candidate must have a proven ability to administer meetings, including taking detailed minutes for DV MARAC or similar case conferences, and should demonstrate excellent project management skills, diplomacy, and the ability to reconcile the interests of different organisations.

The role also requires experience in monitoring, maintaining, and interpreting data while developing and maintaining accurate data recording systems. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to keep records, draft correspondence, and compile statistics to a high standard are essential.

This is a challenging but rewarding opportunity to play a vital role in reducing domestic abuse and violence against women and girls, ensuring a coordinated and effective multi-agency response to high-risk cases. If you have the experience, commitment, and passion for making a difference, we encourage you to apply.
