My client in North-West London is currently hiring senior social workers for their Children's Referral and Assessment service.

Salary:

  • £45,021 per annum, normally rising to £48,060 with annual increments.
  • £5,000 Golden Hello payment (after 6 months).
  • £4,500 annual retention payment every 12 months.

Responsibilities:

  • Assessing the needs, strengths and wishes of children and their families, and determining the appropriate level of intervention and service provision using RAG ratings.
  • Providing crisis intervention and support to children and families who are facing urgent or complex situations.
  • Contacting and making referrals to other agencies and services that can help children and families, such as health, education, housing, or voluntary organisations.
  • Visiting children and families at home or in other settings and assessing their needs and risks.
  • Arranging appropriate care, resources or benefits for children and families, such as child protection plans, child in need plans, or looked after children plans.
  • Liaising with relatives, colleagues and other professionals who are involved with children and families and sharing information and good practice.
  • Attending or contributing to child protection conferences, core group meetings, reviews, or court proceedings.
  • Reviewing and evaluating the effectiveness and outcomes of the services and support provided to children and families and making recommendations for improvement or change.
  • Following the relevant legislation, policies and procedures that govern child safeguarding.
  • Picking up a large, more complex short-term case load once in every 5 weeks which will be completed within the 5 weeks.
  • Mentoring student social workers and ASYE social workers.

Requirements for the role:

  • Degree or Diploma in Social Work, CQSW, CSS or equivalent.
  • SWE registration.
  • Completion of ASYE or equivalent.
  • DBS or ability to pass DBS check.
  • Experience working with children as a social worker on short term cases.
  • Knowledge and practice of relevant legislation.
