Our Client Camden Council, is looking for a Senior Practitioner to join their Adults with Learning Disabilities to join their team.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Social Work Senior Practitioner to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for complex casework and supervision, particularly in the areas of Continuing Health Care and Forensic Social Work. You will be responsible for managing a small caseload of up to 3 complex cases and supervising two Social Worker practitioners. Your focus will be on delivering high-quality care while navigating a whole systems approach to care planning, managing crisis situations, and working within a legally complex framework.

Key Responsibilities:

Casework Management: Manage a small caseload of up to 3 complex cases, including court work and work with forensic services, under the supervision of a Team Manager.

Supervision: Provide professional supervision and support to two Social Worker practitioners, with a focus on Continuing Health Care, ensuring high standards of practice and continuous development.

Court Work: Extensive experience in court work, including representing the local authority in Court of Protection proceedings.

Crisis Management & Intervention: Provide expertise in crisis intervention and management, delivering timely and effective solutions to complex situations.

Systematic Care Planning: Use a whole systems approach to care planning, ensuring that individuals receive holistic and coordinated care that meets their needs.

Team Contribution: Collaborate effectively within the team, offering guidance, training, and support to more junior staff members.

Project Management: If applicable, take the lead on managing relevant projects or initiatives within the service, ensuring the achievement of key objectives and outcomes.

Key Skills and Experience:

Post-Qualifying Experience: At least 2 years of post-qualifying experience as a Social Worker, with a proven track record in managing complex cases.

Forensic Social Work Experience: Experience working within forensic services, dealing with individuals with complex needs in secure settings.

Court Work Expertise: Extensive experience in handling court cases, particularly within the Court of Protection.

Desirable Experience: Experience working with people with Learning Disabilities, Mental Health diagnoses, and Looked After Children.

Care Planning Expertise: Proven experience in navigating a whole systems approach to care planning.

Crisis Management: Experience in managing and intervening in crisis situations effectively.

Legally Literate: Strong understanding of legal frameworks including Mental Health Act, Care Act including safeguarding, mental capacity, and human rights legislation.

Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with professionals, clients, and their families.

Flexibility: A flexible approach to working in a dynamic and often high-pressure environment.

Immediate Availability: Ideally, the successful candidate will be available to start immediately.

Project Management: Experience in managing projects, with a focus on delivery and meeting targets. Understanding of

Continuing Health Care: Knowledge and experience of Continuing Health Care processes, funding, and assessments.

Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills and the ability to resolve complex situations with practical solutions.

Leadership: Ability to provide leadership and guidance to junior staff while fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
