Haringey Council seeks an experienced Senior Practitioner to lead a team within the Youth Justice Service, supporting young people and families to reduce offending and reoffending.

The Role
  • Manage a small team of youth justice professionals, ensuring high-quality support.
  • Develop and oversee specialist interventions in partnership with key agencies.
  • Hold a complex caseload, providing direct support to young people and families.
  • Ensure quality assurance, reviewing casework and improving service delivery.
  • Act as Duty Manager on a rota basis, including occasional out-of-hours cover.
  • Mentor and support colleagues, assisting with casework, assessments, and court reports.
  • Drive public protection and safeguarding across the service.
  • Deputise for the Youth Justice Team Manager as needed.
About You
  • A recognised Social Work qualification (HCPC registered) or an equivalent qualification in Probation, Youth Work, or Teaching, with three years' experience in youth justice.
  • Experience in staff supervision, case management, and performance monitoring.
  • Strong knowledge of youth justice legislation, safeguarding, and intervention strategies.
  • Court experience and a commitment to reducing reoffending and promoting rehabilitation.
