Senior Social Worker -  Adults Gateway

What you will do:

  •  Provide expert guidance and support in safeguarding adults, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
  •  Conduct complex safeguarding assessments and interventions, working collaboratively with other agencies to protect vulnerable adults.
  •  Supervise and mentor a team of social workers and support staff, fostering their professional growth and skill enhancement.
  •  Build strong relationships with internal and external partners, including health services, police, and voluntary organizations, ensuring seamless service delivery.
  •  Manage a caseload of complex cases, prioritizing risk and need, and implementing care plans that promote service users' independence and well-being.
  •  Assist in managing service operations, such as workload allocation and resource management, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards.
  •  Stay current with best practices and legislative changes, actively contributing to the professional development of the team.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  •  Hold a degree in Social Work or equivalent and be registered with the relevant professional body.
  •  Bring a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience with a focus on adult safeguarding.
  •  Possess strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, thriving under pressure and in complex situations.
  •  Have a comprehensive understanding of adult safeguarding legislation and policies, especially the Care Act 2014.
