Senior Social Worker - UASC (Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children)
Are you an Advanced Practitioner with experience working within a UASC team?
London Borough of Lambeth are looking to expand their current team with a dedicated Social Worker looking for an opportunity to join a well-structured and organised team. This UASC role will be for an initial 3-6 months with potential for extension subject to internal circumstance and your performance.
Responsibilities include:
- The Social Worker will be required to support Looked After Children who are Unaccompanied in the UK.
- They will be required to support children and young people with all relevant aspects of their wellbeing, in line with Looked After Children procedures.
- Suitably experienced social worker required to support social workers
- Hold a complex case load of up to 5 complex children and be confident in their decision making
- Required to deputise for the team manager as appropriate
- To support team with duty tasks, undertaking complex case work, case consultation and managing group supervision
- Attend and chair meetings, prepare reports to a good standard for various audiences, quality assure pieces of work within the team
- Management of duty rota and duty tasks
- Required to attend the office 1-2 days per week.
Experience preferred:
- The Social Work candidate will need to have at least 3 years Social Work experience of working with Looked After children and Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children.
- Experience in carrying out Age Assessment would be desirable.
Minimum Requirements:
- HCPC Registration
- 1-2 years post qualifying experience within the UK Social Care industry
- Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you)
- Eligibility to work in the UK
