The Independent Child Protection Conference Service provides a vital quality assurance role in safeguarding Children at risk of significant harm in Lambeth. Child protection conference chairs work closely with SWs, families and other agencies to build a child protection plan that is purposeful and safeguards the children.

Responsibilities include:

  • Care Act assessments
  • Report writing
  • Providing high quality casework
  • Having an informed understanding of mental health factors impacting child development
  • Work on cases with increased complexity
  • Determine an appropriate level of intervention and service provision

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years direct experience of chairing child protection conferences.
  • Previous management experience working within child safeguarding services
  • Skills of multi-agency working, developing child focused CP plans, understanding of dispute resolution and escalation process and challenging professional agencies.
