The Opportunity:
Redbridge Social Care is seeking dynamic, motivated Senior Practitioners to join various service areas, including:
- Domestic Abuse Service
- Community Social Work Team
- Child Protection and Assessment Team
- Parenting Assessment Team
- Reunification Team
- Looked After Children Team
- Emergency Duty Team (EDT)
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform statutory duties under the Children Act 1989 with a sound understanding of other safeguarding legislation and guidance.
- Demonstrate excellent assessment and analysis skills, with a clear understanding of thresholds.
- Think SMART and creatively in care planning for children subject to Child in Need and Child Protection Plans.
- Handle complex cases that may require the initiation of PLO and Court Proceedings.
- Lead an area of social work practice, mentoring and supporting Newly Qualified Social Workers.
- Enhance Social Work Practice across the service, contributing to a high standard of professional practice.
- Deputise for the Practice Manager, quality assuring work completed by Social Workers.
- Represent the service confidently in professional forums.
Ideal Candidate Attributes:
About You:
- Qualifications: A recognized social work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
- Significant experience working with children, young people, and their families.
- Exceptional writing skills and confidence in representing the service professionally.
- Commitment to achieving positive outcomes for children subject to Child in Need, Child Protection plans, and Court Orders.
- Experience in completing assessments and developing SMART care plans.
