Through trauma-informed services and strong multi-agency partnerships, they empower survivors to rebuild their lives and create safer futures.The Role As a Social Care IDVA, you will provide specialist domestic abuse support within Family and Childrenā€™s Services. You will offer direct intervention for survivors, as well as training for social care professionals to enhance institutional responses. This is a crucial role in embedding best practices for safeguarding women and children experiencing domestic abuse.Key Responsibilities
  • Crisis Intervention & Advocacy: Provide tailored safety planning, risk assessments, and crisis support to women at risk.
  • Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work alongside Family and Childrenā€™s Services to improve early intervention and responses to domestic abuse cases.
  • Case Management: Advocate for survivors, ensuring access to legal, housing, and financial support.
  • Training & Upskilling: Deliver training to social care professionals to improve their response to domestic abuse.
  • Risk Assessment & Safeguarding: Identify risks and refer survivors to MARAC and other relevant services.
  • Policy & Best Practice: Embed trauma-informed, survivor-led support within social care settings.
About You
  • Extensive experience in domestic abuse advocacy, crisis intervention, or a similar frontline role.
  • Strong knowledge of domestic abuse legislation, child protection, and safeguarding frameworks.
  • Multi-agency working experience, including collaboration with social workers, legal professionals, and housing providers.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to advocate for survivors and influence systemic change.
  • Experience delivering training, supporting professionals to develop a trauma-informed approach.
