Social Work Officer, Adult Social Care, LondonPertemps are recruiting for a committed Social Work Officer to join Haringey’s Adults Social Services team. This role is pivotal in supporting vulnerable adults within the borough by implementing a strengths-based model of practice. You will assess, review, and develop support plans to maximise independence, improve quality of life, and build resilience for residents and their carers. Additionally, you will provide assistance to social worker teams on more complex cases and collaborate closely with health and social care partners.Key Responsibilities:
  • Hold a caseload of non-complex cases and work closely with partners to improve residents' independence and wellbeing.
  • Undertake assessments, reviews, and support planning to achieve personalised outcomes.
  • Provide practical assistance, including access to living aids and advice on welfare benefits.
  • Arrange short-term care and respite services to support carer well-being.
  • Work closely with adult clients, carers, and communities to clarify needs and develop effective support plans.
  • Liaise with health and social care partners to gather necessary information for assessments and plans.
  • Maintain accurate case notes and reports, adhering to data protection and record-keeping protocols.
  • Assist social workers in collecting and presenting information for legal cases.
  • Undertake reviews of care packages and contribute to Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings.
  • Attend safeguarding strategy meetings as needed.
  • Complete Continuing Health Care (CHC) checklists and identify cases requiring full assessments.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:
  • Genuine motivation for a career in adult social care, demonstrated through experience or exposure to the field (voluntary, paid, or personal).
  • Understanding of adult social care’s role in promoting independence.
  • Knowledge of social care ethics and values, with behavior aligned to these principles.
  • Strong relationship-building skills to empathize, motivate, and support residents and carers.
  • Creativity in identifying and implementing strength-based solutions for residents.
  • Effective written communication skills for assessments, plans, and reports.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Awareness of diversity issues and a commitment to equal opportunities.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance.
