The Safeguarding and Support Team at Haringey Council is comprised of five teams, each led by a Team Manager who oversees up to six social workers.The role within the Assessment Service emphasises safeguarding, diligent assessment, and intervention to address the unique needs of vulnerable children and families. By integrating strong assessment skills, case management expertise, and a commitment to professional development, you will contribute significantly to improving outcomes for those in need.In this role, you will be expected to:

  • Deliver High-Quality Casework: Provide exceptional casework and services to vulnerable children and families, ensuring their safety and promoting their well-being.
  • Conduct Thorough Assessments: Perform comprehensive child and family assessments, including section 47 enquiries, to accurately evaluate needs and risks.
  • Develop and Manage Plans: Create and manage SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) plans for children under Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Looked After Children (LAC) statuses, focusing on their positive development and support.

Maintain Professional Standards: Uphold high standards of professional practice, engaging in regular supervision to ensure ongoing growth and adherence to best practices.
