The role: Social Work Asssitant

Location: Haringey

Rate: £22 P/H

Contract: Full Time Contact

We are currently looking for a social work assistant for a role in Haringey. The social work assistant will support vulnerable adults across the borough through the implementation of our strengths-based model of practice.

This will include the assessment, review and development of support plans that help residents and their carers to maximise their independence, build on their strengths and improve their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working within strengths-based model of practice and holding a non-complex caseload to support residents to improve their independence and wellbeing by working closely with partners and maximising the use and benefit of community resources.
  • Undertake strengths-based assessments, reviews and support planning that enable residents to maximise their independence, improve quality of life and build their resilience.
  • Provide practical support to residents and carers, that helps support them such as accessing living aids: accessing the welfare benefit system in order to provide advice and information to service users.
  • Assist in arranging short term care and in providing clients and carers with respite to reduce carer breakdown

Must-Have Experience:

  • Examples and evidence which demonstrate your genuine motivation for continuing to develop a career in Adult Social care
  • Awareness and understanding of the part that Adult Social Care plays in maximising the independence of vulnerable Adults - demonstrably gained experience or exposure to social care in a voluntary, paid or personal basis
  • Life Skills Development: Experience helping young adults build life skills, gain independence, and access education, work, or training.
