Supported Lettings Officer


My client is seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to join our Housing Solutions team as an Supported Lettings Officer or Offender Housing Resettlement Officer. In this role, you will be pivotal in supporting ex-offenders to find and sustain private rented accommodation, promoting their independence and reducing homelessness. You will work closely with internal teams, landlords, and key external agencies such as Probation and the Police to ensure the successful resettlement and tenancy sustainment of this vulnerable group.

The Role
路Assess and support ex-offenders in securing private rented sector accommodation.
路Provide ongoing tenancy sustainment services, ensuring tenancies are successful.
路Collaborate with agencies to address additional support needs, such as mental health and substance recovery services.
路Conduct accompanied property viewings and advise tenants on welfare benefits, tenancy responsibilities, and other key factors.
路Work closely with landlords to prevent tenancy breakdowns and mediate disputes.
路Stay updated on housing laws, welfare reforms, and private renting regulations.
路Ensure smooth transitions from temporary accommodation to more stable housing options.
路Maintain accurate records of clients, landlords, and properties.
路Provide holistic advice on housing benefits, welfare reforms, and tenancy rights.

The Ideal Candidate
路Solid understanding of homelessness legislation, housing benefits, and private rented tenancies.
路Experience working with ex-offenders and individuals with diverse support needs.
路Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work independently.
路Problem-solving skills to find creative housing solutions for individuals with complex needs.
路Commitment to delivering excellent customer service and meeting performance targets.
