Youth Justice Practitioner

An opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Youth Justice Practitioner to join a multi-agency, multi-professional team working with young people at risk of offending or those who have already entered the criminal justice system. This role is part of a broader Children and Family Service, delivering targeted interventions to young people and their families.
The role involves planning and delivering evidence-based, outcome-focused interventions to support young people in making positive changes. The practitioner will ensure that assessments are thorough, effective plans are put in place, and statutory requirements are met in accordance with the National Standards for Youth Justice. Key responsibilities include working within the court system, writing high-quality reports, supporting custody processes, and collaborating with a range of professionals, including police, probation, education, and mental health services.
Applicants must have previous experience in a youth justice setting, particularly in court processes, report writing, and risk assessments. A strong understanding of youth justice legislation, safeguarding, and best practices for working with vulnerable young people is essential. The role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to engage with young people and families, and a commitment to reducing youth offending and improving community safety.
