The role - Youth Mentor - Newham

  • Work closely with students who have challenging behaviour or mental health challenges, this will be done either in small groups or on a one-to-one basis
  • Assisting with the identification of pupils in need of extra support in the classroom
  • Develop strategies that can be used by students to manage their behaviour in a more effective manner
  • As part of the process of creating action plans, set targets that will help improve the behaviour of a student
  • Liaise with the SENCos and other external agencies
  • Maintaining track of a pupil's progress and monitoring their behaviour on a regular basis
  • Assisting pupils who display challenging behaviour during breaks by organising activities during lunchtime or interventions
