Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Mentor to support and guide young individuals in their personal and educational development. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a strong desire to make a positive impact in their lives. This role involves providing mentorship, encouragement, and educational support to youth, particularly those with special needs or requiring additional assistance.

Duties

  • Develop trusting relationships with young individuals to foster a supportive environment.
  • Provide one-on-one mentoring sessions to help youth set and achieve personal goals.
  • Assist in educational activities, ensuring that learning is engaging and tailored to individual needs.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to create comprehensive support plans for each child.
  • Facilitate group activities that promote teamwork, communication, and social skills among peers.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to both the youth and their guardians regarding development and challenges.
  • Maintain accurate records of mentoring sessions and progress reports as required.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in mentoring or youth work, ideally within an educational or community setting.
  • Background in special education or experience working with children who have additional needs is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with young individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with youth and their families.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt strategies based on individual circumstances.
